Architecture and the built environment has long been a passion of mine. There’s something deeply satisfying in enhancing an image of an elegantly-designed building to showcase the magnificence of engineering and construction whilst still achieving a photographic-real looking image.

It can be as simple as correcting the perspective or improving the contrast on a photograph. It can also be far more complicated as I am briefed to ‘finish’ buildings by removing interfering objects such as scaffolding or construction equipment or tasked with subtly completing the rendering or landscaping elements still under construction. Architectural commissions certainly bring out the perfectionist in me and I get a tremendous satisfaction from the very involved, focused work. I thrive on the painstaking clean-up, delicate construction of the subject and enhancement of the setting until the finished impression is complete.
