This photograph, from my private collection, was taken during a visit to New Delhi in late 2012. Looking through Diwan-iKhas in the Red Fort complex, I captured this powerful image of a solo woman crossing the courtyard. Capturing the subject in the right position, necessarily meant photographing others in the busy complex. In post-production, I undertook a minor clean-up and removed the other figures and barrier ropes. This image also demonstrates my fix for minor perspective distortion (due to hand-held shooting), optimisation of tonal values and the addition of a final atmosphere in the finished composition.
